CODAR LLC ("Codar", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights, including under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data controller
The entity responsible for processing your personal data is CODAR LLC, operator of the Codar brand and codar.software.

2. Data we collect
Contact and identity data: name, email, phone, company (optional), business area, and project goal when you book an intro call or contact us.
Account and service data: login credentials, invited team members, Kanban requests, communications, and files shared as part of your subscription.
Payment data: processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, and device identifiers collected automatically in site and infrastructure logs.
Cookie preferences: your choice to accept or decline non-essential cookies, stored locally in your browser.
3. Purposes and legal bases
Provide the service and manage the contractual relationship (contract performance): bookings, accounts, delivery, support, and billing.
Respond to enquiries and assess commercial fit (legitimate interest or pre-contractual steps, as applicable).
Send booking confirmations and operational communications related to the service (contract performance or legitimate interest).
Improve the site, measure audience and campaigns with analytics/marketing cookies only after consent (consent).
Meet legal, tax, and security obligations (legal obligation and legitimate interest).
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use essential cookies required for the site to function and analytics/marketing cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner.
With your consent, we may use Meta Pixel (Facebook) to measure visits and conversions, such as call bookings. You can decline non-essential cookies at any time by clearing your browser preference or declining in the banner when shown.

5. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with subprocessors that help us operate the service, under contracts requiring adequate protection. Examples: hosting (Vercel), transactional email (SMTP), payment processing, and analytics/marketing tools when consented.
We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Codar and its clients.
6. Data retention
Lead and unconverted booking data: up to 24 months, unless you request earlier deletion.
Active client data: for the duration of the relationship and then as needed for legal, accounting, or claims purposes (typically up to 6 years, unless a different legal period applies).
Technical logs and cookies: as stated in the cookie policy or the minimum needed for security.
After applicable periods, we delete or anonymise data.
7. Your rights
If you are in the EU/UK, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest, as well as withdraw consent where applicable.
You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In Portugal: Comissão Nacional de Protecção de Dados (cnpd.pt).
To exercise your rights, email nuno@codar.software. We respond within the applicable legal timeframe, usually within 30 days.
8. International transfers
CODAR LLC may process data outside the European Economic Area, including the United States, where some infrastructure providers are located.
Where applicable, we use appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, as required by GDPR.
9. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and vendors with recognised security practices.
No transmission or storage method is 100% secure; we aim to reduce risk proportionately.
10. Children
The service is intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe we collected a minor's data, contact us for deletion.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or operational changes. We will publish the updated version on this page with a new date. Material changes will be communicated when appropriate.
